Police Organization Marks 75 Years

The Chester County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 11 recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. State Sen. Andy Dinniman was on hand at the Chester County FOP Lodge 11 picnic to present FOP president Steve Plaugher with an official Senate citation in honor of the milestone anniversary.

The Chester County FOP Lodge 11 represents more than 800 active and retired law enforcement officers from more than 50 police departments in Chester County. It was established in 1944 and is committed to improving the working conditions of officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation.

The Fraternal Order of Police is known as the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges.
