The York White Rose Wanderers invite community members to participate in the club's 35th anniversary walk event, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6, at Naylor Wine Cellars, 4069 Vineyard Road, Stewartstown. Participants may start between 8 a.m. and noon and must be finished by 3 p.m. The walk trail will include 5K, 7K, and 10K options. The walk is free, but there is a fee for those who wish to receive credit.
The special event will feature a commemorative stemless wine glass as the "A" award, and interested walkers should preregister for it by Tuesday, Oct. 1. The event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association. The trails will be on natural surfaces and berms of roadways, with a rating of 2B. Strollers and wheelchairs could have difficulty navigating some of the routes.
