Nature Classes Scheduled

Green Valleys Watershed Association (GVWA), located in East Nantmeal Township, will offer its seasonal Little Wonders Nature Classes for children ages 3, 4, and 5 and their caregivers.

Little Wonders Nature Classes will teach young participants and their caregivers more about the natural world through age-tailored, themed activities. Classes will take place at Green Valleys' home of Welkinweir, 1368 Prizer Road, Pottstown. The 219-acre sanctuary features a forest, meadows, ponds, and streams. Each program will include a discovery walk, story, art project, and snack.

Each date will have its own theme, so children may register for one or more classes.

Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Topics will include the following: Oct. 2, Nature Detectives; Oct. 9, Discovering Gnomes and Fairies; Oct. 16, What Lives in the Pond?; Oct. 23, Happy Homes; Oct. 30, Animals of Halloween; Nov. 6, Autumn Art; and Nov. 13, Animal Tales. Winter Wonderland, a special event, will be held on Dec. 11 from 9:45 to 11 a.m.

Adults must attend with their child. There is a fee per child per class, and adults will be admitted for free. GVWA members will receive a discount. Space is limited, and preregistration is required at least one day prior to each class. To register and for more details, readers may contact education programs coordinator Dawn White at dwhite@greenvalleys.org or 610-469-8646.
