Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association (LSRA) will present the inaugural Dam Bridge Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event will feature three different races on the Susquehanna River at Lake Clark. All races will start and finish at Lock 2 Recreation Area, 2100 Fishing Creek Road, Wrightsville. Following the races, live music, beverages, and food will be offered around Shank's Mare property.
The races will include a 1-mile race, a 3.5-mile race, and a sprint from Lock 2 to Fishing Creek and back. The pre-race meeting will start at 9:30 a.m. The main event will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the second race at 10:20 a.m. and the third race at 10:40 a.m.
There will be different classes for entrants to choose from depending on the size of their kayak or stand-up paddleboard. There is a cost to participate, and proceeds will benefit LSRA.
