Pappus House will hold its inaugural Lanterns of Light Memorial Event on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m at Cousler Park, 1060 Church Road, York. The light from hundreds of floating lanterns will illuminate the pond at sunset. Members of the public are invited to purchase lanterns in memory of loved ones. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Lanterns can be reserved for a fee, with a lower fee for each additional lantern after the first one. Lanterns can be personalized on the night of the event prior to being illuminated and launched.
Pappus House is an independent, community-supported, nonprofit residence that welcomes those who are near the end of life's journey and are unable to remain in their own home. Staff members and volunteers serve as extended family, providing around-the-clock care and support for residents and their loved ones in collaboration with their chosen hospice agency.
