The Friends Folk Club will host the Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 116 Lancaster Pike, Oxford, on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
With piano, keyboards, brass instruments, and various string instruments, the group will perform a variety of original tunes, jazz and blues standards, and reworkings of American music, including New Orleans jazz, blues, folk, Americana, and pop.
Hailing from New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley, the trio's three musicians come from different backgrounds. They released their debut EP, "Still She Will Fly," in 2015. Their latest CD, 2017's "Singin'," debuted at No. 1 on the folk radio charts. Pierson's new recording, "Lines and Spaces," will be released on Friday, Nov. 1.
Heather Pierson performs lead vocals and plays acoustic guitar, tenor banjo, and piano. Davy Sturtevant plays cornet, dobro, fiddle, and mandolin and sings harmony vocals. Shawn Nadeau plays bass and sings harmony vocals.
