VROCP Sets Awareness Event

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania (VROCP) will be hold its eighth annual Evening in the Shadows dinner in support of the organization's mission. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at The 903, 903 Spring Garden Drive, Middletown.

Evening in the Shadows will offer participants the experience of dining through the eyes and senses of someone who is visually impaired. Before being seated, guests will be assisted with donning adjustable lightweight blindfolds. They will then be led to tables where they will be served a five-course meal and beverages. Guests will be encouraged to discuss and guess exactly what foods they are tasting. The program will include live background music.

Vision Resources serves individuals who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled through prevention, employment and educational awareness programs. The organization seeks to aid these individuals by facilitating their independence, enriching their quality of life, and empowering them. The agency's services extend to Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Perry counties.
