The City of Lancaster, in partnership with Lancaster's Economic Action for Downtown's Success (LEADS), has selected a tree to serve as the Christmas tree in Penn Square for the 2019 holiday season. John and Jo Eidemiller of Leola offered the winning 30-foot Norway spruce. The tree will be transported to Penn Square on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
It will be the centerpiece of the Mayor's Tree Lighting and Tuba Christmas on Friday, Nov. 29. For more information about the event, readers may visit http://www.visitlancastercity.com/lancaster-city-for-the-holidays.
After the holidays are over, the tree will be transformed into mulch for city parks.
