Hospice & Community Care and the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss have slated upcoming support programs.
G.R.A.S.P. (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing) will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pathways Center, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy. The free group is intended to provide compassion and understanding for individuals who have had a loved one die as a result of substance abuse or addiction. Coping With the Holidays - Holiday Survival Guide will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Essa Flory Center, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, as well as on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Pathways Center. The free session for bereaved adults is intended to help them get through the holiday season and perhaps find something positive during an otherwise difficult time. A free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Pathways Center as part of International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. A DVD produced by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be shown. There will be opportunities to hear from others about their experiences.
