The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Library Events

Amelia Bedelia will be the guest reader at story time on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Regular story time with Miss Joyce will then continue every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
Knit and Natter, the library's knitting and crocheting group, will meet on Nov. 6 and Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. Both beginners and experts are welcome.
The Adult Book Group will meet on Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. Call the library for information on the latest book choice.
ACE Meeting
ACE (Anti-Human Trafficking Alliance) of Oxford will present "Active Shooter Readiness" with guest Ernest Peterson on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Oxford Public Library, 48 S. Second St., Oxford. Refreshments will be served at 9 a.m.
Attendees will learn good practices in coping with an active shooter situation. All are invited.
Plans for the holiday gift collection scheduled for the Saturday, Dec. 14, meeting will also be discussed.

Free Admission
The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC), 1220 American Blvd, West Chester, will recognize and thank veterans and active duty military personnel with free museum admission on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9 and 10.

TOPS Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight-loss support group, will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Oxford Senior Center, 12 Locust St., Oxford.

Quarryville Library, 357 Buck Road, Quarryville, has posted two upcoming meetings. All are welcome to attend either event.
The Friends of the Quarryville Library will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m.
The Book Club will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 1:30 p.m. The group will discuss "The Atomic City Girls" by Janet Beard.
Veterans Meeting
The Gen. John H. Michaelis Chapter 327 of the Korean War Veterans Association will meet at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Eagle Commons of Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. The meeting will include a free luncheon. The speaker, Lt. Col. Timothy M. Zerbe, will present "The Current Training Model of the U.S. Army and ANG and Lessons Learned From the Korean War."
Membership in the KWVA is open to all men and women who served in Korea at any time from 1945 to the present or were in uniform serving anywhere from June 25, 1950, to Jan. 31, 1955. Talk On The Lenapes
"The Story of the Lenape," a free talk by Professor Marshall Becker, will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at the New London Academy, 902 State Road, Lincoln University. Dr. Becker, professor emeritus at West Chester University, will discuss the history of the Lenape (also known as the Delaware) of southeastern Pennsylvania from their formation, around A.D. 1000, until the present.
This talk is being jointly sponsored by the New London Area Historical Society and the Franklin Township Historical Commission. Everyone is invited, and refreshments will be served after the program.
Agatha Christie Play
ACT Players will present Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" at the Kemblesville United Methodist Church. 1772 New London Road, Kemblesville. Show times are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.actplayers.org.
Dance Party
Youths with special needs are invited to enjoy an "Everybody In" dance party that will be held at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 W. Boot Road, West Chester, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 to 11 a.m.
After the event on Nov. 16, upcoming dances will be held on Nov. 23 and Dec. 14. It is not necessary to register for the events, and participants can attend as many dance parties as they choose.
All attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian who must stay with them during the hourlong session. Siblings are welcome. No snacks will be provided, so dancers are encouraged to bring bottled water or other beverages.
