The Solanco School District and University of Delaware have partnered to receive a selective grant that will prepare Solanco students for higher education and careers using 3-D metal printers in the additive manufacturing industry.
The grant, through the General Electric (GE) Additive Education Program, will encourage Solanco students to pursue higher education in additive manufacturing at the University of Delaware and will train and equip students to be future designers and innovators in additive manufacturing.
The grant will provide the Solanco Technology Education Department with a Polar 3-D printer. In addition, Solanco students would have the opportunity to use 3-D Polar Cloud resources to network, share ideas and problem solve with college professors and 3-D printing experts as the students progress through curriculum at Solanco.
Solanco and the University of Delaware were selected as grant recipients from among nearly 3,500 applicants from 48 countries.
