A Princess Party will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. The evening will feature music, dancing, games, crafts, and a princess costume parade. Light snacks will be served. Each girl must be chaperoned by one adult age 18 or older and is encouraged to dress in her favorite princess attire. The registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 8. There is a fee per couple, with a discounted fee for additional princesses.
Medicare Madness: Intro to Medicare, led by human resource benefits specialist Jonathan Ebersole for individuals who are about to turn age 65, will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in GEARS Recreation Room 2, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown. The basics of Medicare will be explained, including how and when to sign up for Medicare, what is covered by the different parts of Medicare (A, B, C, and D), and what the difference is between a Medicare Supplemental (Medigap) plan and a Medicare Advantage plan, along with how to find a plan that best fits one's needs. Several rounds of Medicare Bingo will be played.
Children in grades one through six are invited to make holiday crafts to take home on Monday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon at the West Donegal Township Municipal Building, 1 Municipal Drive, Elizabethtown. Various craft projects will be supplied for children on the no-school day, and Beth Lynch will instruct.
Trips to New York City have been set for Saturdays, Nov. 30 and Dec. 21, with a 6:15 a.m. departure time from the parking lot at Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St. Participants will be able to enjoy a day on their own in the city.
