Conestoga Valley High School was awarded the Program Excellence Award at the STEMathon conference at the Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13 on Oct. 30.
Presented by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) and the Technology & Engineering Education Association of Pennsylvania (TEEAP), the Program Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given to technology and engineering education programs on the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Those eligible for this award must be characterized as providing technology and engineering education instruction of high quality, be learner centered, and be relevant to a study of technological literacy.
The award is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the technology and engineering profession. Conestoga Valley High School last won this award in the 2003-04 school year, and the middle school last won it in the 2006-07 year. Only one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school in Pennsylvania are recognized each year by TEEAP.
