The 15th annual Historic Schaefferstown Christkindlmarkt will take place on Friday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lower level of the Thomas R. Brendle Museum, 111 N. Market St., Schaefferstown.

The show will feature artisans and their handcrafted traditional early American and Pennsylvania German crafts for holiday entertaining and gift giving. Items available for purchase will include balsam wreaths and Christmas decorations, folk art wood carvings, feather trees, quilt art, hooked rugs, felted birds, fraktur prints, pottery and redware, baskets, star crafts, soap, beeswax ornaments, and pressed flowers. Christkindlmarkt is an open-air market that takes place in many German towns and villages. Schaefferstown's Christkindlmarkt is a replica of its European cousin, though held indoors.

Admission and parking are free. Proceeds will benefit Historic Schaefferstown Inc., a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to preserving the Pennsylvania German culture and history of the area.
