During the Extraordinary Give on Friday, Nov. 22, the Warwick Education Foundation (WEF) hopes to attract more than 30 new donors and maybe win a $500 bonus from the Lancaster County Community Foundation.
The bonus could help to purchase items such as five more Dash robots to provide elementary school students with additional opportunities to learn the computer coding that programs the robots' movements.
A large portion of the Warwick Education Foundation's annual budget goes to supporting STEM courses and upgrading computer technology. Last year, for example, WEF contributed a $60,000 investment for renovating and modernizing the computer labs in all four elementary schools.
In total, the foundation gave $235,000 to enrich learning for Warwick's 4,100 students above and beyond what the school district can budget. This year's goal is $250,000.
Contributions to the WEF can be made at http://www.extragive.org on Nov. 22 or at any time at http://www.WarwickEF.org.
