Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of programs to the community. Due to the holidays, the library will be closed on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24; Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25; New Year's Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31; and New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The Friends' fundraiser at Five Below will run through Dec. 24. Shoppers can pick up a coupon at the library to present to the cashier at the time of purchase. A percentage of the purchase will be donated to the library.
Several story time programs will be offered during the winter. Babies and Toddlers Story Time with Miss Lisa is open to children from birth to age 3 and will be offered on Mondays, Jan. 13 to March 2, 2020, at 10 and again at 10:45 a.m. Pre-School Story Time, for children ages 3 to 5, will be held on Mondays and Fridays, Jan. 13 to March 6, 2020. The Monday program will begin at 1 p.m., and the Friday session will start at 10:30 a.m.
A special Holiday Pre-School Story Time will take place on Monday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 will share a story and make a craft.
Wee Build Wednesdays, a program for children ages 3 to 5, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Wee Build STEM materials will be available for use, so parents can enjoy hands-on learning with their young children during the drop-in program.
Children age 6 and older may participate in the Lego Builders' Club from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19. Children will have an opportunity to explore sculpture, architecture, and concepts of geometry while having fun. This is a drop-in event.
Among the tween programs, designed for youths ages 9 to 12, will be the Danger Club, which will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
First Night Hallam will feature a large Candyland at Trinity United Church of Christ, 200 E. Market St., Hallam, on Dec. 31. Tweens and teenagers are invited to join Miss Jennifer to play.
Programs for teenagers ages 13 to 18 will include Teen Time on Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. where teenagers may gather to hang out and enjoy conversation with each other.
Teen After Hours will take place on Friday, Dec. 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and teenagers can hang out, chat, and play games.
Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 5:30 p.m. Interested individuals are invited to attend.
Knitters and Crocheters will gather on Tuesdays, Dec. 3 and 17, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. People of all skill levels are welcome. Members will help beginners learn to knit or crochet. Attendees should bring needles and yarn or the project they are currently working on.
