High School Students Honored

Two seniors and two juniors received recognition for their achievements at Lampeter-Strasburg (L-S) High School in October. Megan Stratton and Andrew Wittemann were named Pioneer Superlatives. Namyah Crespo and Jonathan Klein were named Students of the Month.

Megan, a junior, is the daughter of David and Janice Stratton of Lancaster. She is an ICC leader and a member of the Mini-THON executive committee, Student Council, Pioneer Interact Club, Varsity Club, National Honor Society, and the cross-country and girls' lacrosse teams. Megan is consistently on the distinguished honor roll and received Burrowes Scholar awards at the fifth- and eighth-grade levels. Outside of school, she volunteers for Girls on the Run. Megan plans to attend college.

Andrew, a senior, is the son of Erick and Mary Wittemann of Willow Street. He is the senior class treasurer, the Quiz Bowl team captain, and a member of National Honor Society, L-S STEM Pioneers, STEM club, Model UN, marching band, concert band, High School Heroes, and the boys' tennis team. Andrew is regularly on the distinguished honor roll and is a Burrowes Scholar award winner for science and a Quiz Bowl League All-Star. Outside of school, he volunteers at the Lancaster Science Factory and attends church. He plans to study nuclear engineering after graduation.

Namyah, a senior, is the daughter of Shelly Walker of Lancaster. She is a member of the High School Heroes program and was the recipient of a Lancaster Chamber Award. Namyah plans to pursue a career as a hairstylist after graduation.

Jonathan, a junior, is the son of Thomas and Hope Klein of Willow Street. He is the president and editor-in-chief of LS News, as well as a school photographer, a set builder for plays and musicals, and a member of the boys' lacrosse team. Outside of school, Jonathan is the photographer for Mission Church and a youth group host. He plans to pursue a career in photography, business, and/or teaching.
