The IDEAS Center, a department of the York Jewish Community Center (JCC), invites the community to come and learn about religious diversity on Saturday, Dec. 7. The program, "Shared Faith: The Golden Rule," will take place as one of the many events through Light Up York from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the York College Center for Community Engagement.
This program will celebrate the cultural diversity of York through round-robin, interactive breakout sessions with area faith leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to explore various spiritual traditions, using the Golden Rule as common ground. Other partners in this program are the City of York and the college's Intercultural Student Life and Center for Community Engagement. Following this first-time program, Light Up York will light the first-ever menorah in Continental Square at 5 p.m.
The program will be free, and child care will be provided. Participants must preregister by phone at 717-843-0918 or in person at the York JCC. More information may be found by searching for "Shared Faith: The Golden Rule" on Facebook.
