YCHS will be open to the public on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for families who want to take a tour while classes are in session. Student ambassadors will escort families and let them observe a typical school day. Visitors will have a chance to meet with the admissions director to ask questions. Instruments and voices will come together during the YCHS Christmas concerts on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. The junior high concert will take place on Monday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. The concerts will celebrate the sounds of the holiday season. Admission is free and open to the public.
Future girls' basketball players in kindergarten through grade six are invited to Futures Night at YCHS on Wednesday, Dec. 11, when the YCHS girls' team takes on Dover. Future boys' basketball players and cheerleaders are invited to attend on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, when the YCHS boys' team takes on York Tech. The junior varsity games will start at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity games. Futures will participate in the pre-game prayer and huddle, sit behind the bench for the game, and become part of the welcome tunnel before the game. The YCHS Athletic Booster Club will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction and reception will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at YCHS. The inductees will be introduced prior to the start of the boys' varsity basketball game versus Berks Catholic, which is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. tipoff. The inductees include Brittany Hicks, 2010; Schuyler Merritt, 2007; Bryan Minniti, 1998; Raymond Tuleya Jr., 1955; and Danielle Colombo Worzel, 2007.
