The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.
Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Free Meal
As part of the Shepherd's Kitchen meal ministry at Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, a free meal will be offered on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Holiday Open House
The historic Welkinweir estate, headquarters of the Green Valleys Watershed Association, will open its doors to the public for a holiday open house on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. The estate house, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, will be decorated for the holidays by local garden clubs and horticulture students from Owen J. Roberts High School. There will also be seasonal music from the estate's restored Skinner pipe organ and light refreshments.
There is no fee, however donations will be accepted. Welkinweir is located at 1368 Prizer Road, near Pughtown, in East Nantmeal Township.
Program At Hopewell
The Friends of Hopewell Furnace will present the program "British-American Iron Connection: Hopewell Furnace and Iron Bridge Gorge" on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, 2 Mark Bird Lane, Elverson. The speaker will be David Blackburn, Hopewell Furnace site manager. The program is free, and refreshments will be served.
Neighbors Meeting
Neighbors Caring and Sharing, a Christian women's fellowship group, will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 9:15 to 11 a.m. at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main St. (Route 23), Morgantown. The program will include a cookie exchange and a "make-your-own gift bag" craft. Attendees should bring three dozen family favorite cookies to exchange.

TOPS Meeting
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight loss support group, will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 8:45 to 10 a.m. at The Torch Community Center, located in the Clock Tower Plaza in Morgantown. Senior Citizens Meeting
Honey Brook Senior Citizens will meet at Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 11:30 a.m.
The program will be a sing-along. All seniors are invited to attend and asked to bring a covered dish to share and a wrapped gift to exchange.
Free Luncheon
Nantmeal United Methodist Church, 359 Nantmeal Road, Glenmoore, will offer its free community luncheon on Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 2 p.m. This month's meal will include chili, hot dogs, dessert and beverages. All are invited to enjoy good food and fellowship with their neighbors.
Blood Drive
A Red Cross blood drive will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brick Lane Community Church, 52 S. Brick Lane, Elverson. Community memebrs are invited to give the gift of blood this holiday season.
Craft Show, Train Display
The community is invited to visit the Polar Express craft show and train display on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, 4331 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, Admission is free and open to the public.
Featured will be live train displays of all sizes, and a lunch of hot dogs, soup, pretzels, dessert and soda. Quarts of homemade soup will be available to purchase and take home.
There will also be vendors offering a variety of homemade items, as well as member-made crafts and a silent auction.
Children will be able to view the "Polar Express" movie. Free hot chocolate and popcorn will be provided.

Holiday Event
St. Mary of Providence, 227 Isabella Road, Elverson, will hold a Christmas open house on Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 6 p.m. Featured will be tours of Langoma, the 1890s Potts mansion, visits with Santa as well as and hot chocolate and treats at the Gingerbread House. There will also be an opportunity to win gift baskets.
