Donegal Posts Holiday Concerts

Donegal School District has posted its schedule of holiday concerts.

The Donegal Intermediate School will present its music ensembles in a holiday concert on Monday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at Donegal High School (DHS), 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy. The elementary ensembles set to take part in the concert are the fifth- and sixth-grade chorus, directed by Hollie Mendenhall; the fifth- and sixth-grade concert band, directed by Meagan Caterbone; and the fifth- and sixth-grade string ensemble, directed by Margaret Kramer. Some holiday favorites to be performed are "Up on the Housetop" and "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Also performed will be "Here We Come A-Wassailing" with a Latin beat.

The Donegal Junior High School holiday concert will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at the school, 915 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy. It will include the junior high band, chorus, and strings.

The Donegal High School will present its music ensembles in its annual holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Ensembles will include the concert choir, directed by Caterbone; the concert band, directed by Dale Sellers; the Rhythm Singers, directed by Caterbone; the DHS jazz band, directed by Sellers; and the high school string ensemble, directed by Kramer. All groups will perform a variety of Christmas and winter pieces, and all Donegal chorus alumni will be invited to join in the annual performance of the "Hallelujah" chorus from Handel's "Messiah." A reception will be held in the cafeteria following the concert.
