Student Honored For Good Deeds

A seventh-grader at Lower Dauphin Middle School was recently recognized for doing the right thing by Lower Dauphin Communities That Care and Hummelstown Police. Kylei Longenecker was nominated by her English teacher, Nina Gilroy, for being inclusive and seeking to promote her classmates' well-being.

For her kindness toward others, Kylei was recognized with the November Do the Right Thing award, along with a gift card, a Do the Right Thing T-shirt and certificate, and a Papa John's pizza coupon. This month's program sponsor was Commonwealth Financial Associates.

Now in its 13th year, the Do the Right Thing program recognizes students in the Lower Dauphin community who have distinguished themselves through their accomplishments, attitude, or outstanding efforts. Anyone over the age of 18 may nominate a child. For more information, readers may contact Angela Durantine at adurantine@ldsd.org.
