Police Group Sets Meetings

The Community Police Working Group invites Lancaster city residents to attend a series of town hall meetings slated for February, where the group will present its vision and mission, solicit feedback, and gather community input to shape future goals for the group. The meetings will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at Crispus Attucks Community Center, 407 Howard Ave., Lancaster, and Thursday, Feb. 20, at Bright Side Opportunities Center, 515 Hershey Ave., Lancaster. A meeting specifically for J.P. McCaskey High School students will be held at the school in late February.

The group is made up of representatives from the City of Lancaster government, the Lancaster City Police Department, the Lancaster chapter of the NAACP, representatives from community benefit organizations, clergy, and city residents. It has begun working with Intersekt Alliance, a consulting firm, to create a strategic plan to address the organizational structure of the group, finalize a vision and mission, and define its work.
