Art Association Will Meet

Jan 28, 2020 - 6:30 pm

The Lititz Art Association will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz. Jane Wise will present "Underpainting." The program is free and open to the public.

Wise has painted seriously for the last 10 years. She has taken several watercolor plant illustration classes at Longwood Gardens with Carol Gangemi, classes at Lancaster County Art Association with Karen Fratalli, and classes with Andy Smith in Lititz. Recently, she started taking classes with Larry Lombardo in Mechanicsburg at The Art Center.

She said she makes art because she wants to create something beautiful or to capture an idea or feeling. Nature inspires her, especially flowers, many of which she grows around her home, and the change of the seasons. She is also interested in light and reflections, shadows, textures, and shapes. She seeks to continue growing as an artist by trying various styles, such as realism and impressionism, and by alternating between watercolors, ink, and acrylics.

In addition to creating her own art, Wise has taught art classes to homeschool students.

The Lititz Art Association meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Lititz Public Library. Membership is open to all interested persons 18 years of age or older. More information is available at http://www.LititzArtAssociation.com.
