The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Lancaster County announced several award winners at the annual installation banquet on Jan. 9. The The Building - Industry - Association Awards, the Young Professional Award and the President's Award were chosen by association peers and staff members for the 2019 year.
The Building Award, which recognizes a member who contributes to the creation of quality homes, thus strengthening relationships in the local community and providing business opportunities for those that support the industry, was presented to Tom Keller, GR Mitchell.
The Industry Award, which recognizes a member who has strongly advocated for the industry position on issues that influence the members' ability to do business, was presented to Steve Black, Heartwinds Homes.
The Association Award, which recognizes a member who has represented the association as an ambassador, volunteer and leader, promoting the association and its member companies, was presented to Dan McCord, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Andrew Barninger, NextPhase Business Planning, was presented the Young Professional Award. The award recognizes a young professional who has represented the association as an ambassador, volunteer and leader, promoting the association and its member companies.
The President's Award was presented to Frank Vargish, Blakinger Thomas. This award recognizes a member who stood out during the term of 2019 BIA president Keith Petrisek.
Founded in 1956, the BIA of Lancaster County is a nonprofit trade organization composed of builders, subcontractors, suppliers and other professionals involved in the home building industry.
