Feb 08, 2020 - 1:30 pm

The Rotary Club of Lititz will present "China: Beyond the Wall," the fourth Travelogue of its 2019-20 Travel and Adventure Series, on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Warwick High School Performing Arts Center, 301 W. Orange St., Lititz. Performances will take place at 2 and 7:30 p.m. with musical preludes starting at 1:30 and 7 p.m.

Filmmaker and author Karin Muller traveled throughout China for three months and was invited behind the scenes of a traveling opera troop, professional chicken fights, and Shanghai's dating market.

Muller's career encompasses a range of photography, literature, and cinematography, including several books and numerous documentaries for National Geographic and PBS. She has trekked 4,000 miles along the Inca Trail for National Geographic to document the space between Quito and Santiago, in addition to trips to Vietnam, Japan, Zanzibar, and other destinations.

Separate ticket prices have been set for adults and for children. Season tickets may be used at either performance and may be purchased from any Rotary member or at the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz. For more information, readers may contact Dean Brandt at 717-626-4520.

All of the net funds from these activities are given to more than 30 nonprofit service groups each year, as well as providing college loans and scholarships to many local students. Some of the locally supported groups include four local fire companies, Warwick Ambulance Association, Warwick/Lititz Community Chest, Lititz Historical Foundation, Lititz Public Library, Lititz recCenter and Lititz Springs Park. The Rotary Club of Lititz has helped more than 500 students attend college. Money raised this past year, which grossed more than $125,000, is now being distributed to these many community and charitable-focused groups and students.
