Lisa Ericson, a Manheim Township resident, recently wrote a book, "Against All Odds: An Incredible Journey of Hope and Healing," telling the true story of Shannon Kerr.
Kerr, a young woman who lives near Minneapolis, Minn., endured an experience in 2015 where she almost died. Because the circumstances surrounding the event were unusual, mysterious, and infused with hope, people suggested that she put the story into print. She asked Ericson to author the book.
Ericson met with Kerr for two days in her home in Minnesota to get an overview of the story. Back in Pennsylvania, Ericson took on the project, conducting research and doing phone interviews with family, friends, eyewitnesses, and authorities associated with the story. Ericson wrote a complete manuscript, which she delivered to Kerr seven months later. As Kerr's ghostwriter, Ericson decided to write the entire story from Kerr's perspective.
The book is available via http://www.againstalloddsbook.com and other online sources, in both paperback and digital formats.
