Open Streets Lancaster Planned

The Lancaster Recreation Commission will partner with the City of Lancaster and Lancaster BIKES! to host its seventh annual Open Streets Lancaster event on Sunday, May 17. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on North and South Water streets connecting Culliton Park and Mayor Janice C. Stork Corridor Park.

Organizers are seeking businesses to sponsor the event, as well as community organizations and local businesses to be vendors. More information is available by contacting the Lancaster Recreation Commission at 717-392-2115.

Open Streets Lancaster will turn Water Street into a paved park to encourage physical activity and socializing, support the local economy and celebrate downtown Lancaster. Last year the event drew more than 7,000 participants with free fitness classes, gymnastics, dancing, yoga, food trucks, musicians and local service agencies.

Open Streets Lancaster is free and open to people of all ages. For more information, readers may visit http://openstreetslnc.org/.
