A total of $222,345 in state grants was awarded to various fire and EMS companies that serve the 74th Legislative District. Through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, first responders can use the funding for construction or renovation of facilities and fixtures, maintenance and improvements for service capabilities, purchase or repair of equipment, purchase of fuel for company vehicles, plus training and education.
Funding will be distributed to Alert Fire Company, $13,152; City of Coatesville Bureau of Fire, $13,700; East Brandywine Fire Company, $14,248; Keystone Valley Fire, $60,248; Keystone Valley EMS, $27,572; Minquas Fire, $9,192; Minquas EMS, $10,000; Modena Fire, $14,248; Modena EMS, $9,192; Sadsburyville Fire Company, $14,248; Thorndale Fire Company, $13,105; Westwood Fire, $14,248; and Westwood EMS, $9,192. Signed grant agreements need to be submitted by Sunday, May 31, to receive the designated funding.
