Students To Present "Mamma Mia!"

NHS Dramatics will present the Broadway hit "Mamma Mia!" at 7 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 20 to 22, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Shows will take place in the auditorium at Northeastern High School (NHS), 300 High St., Manchester.

"Mamma Mia!" is a jukebox musical written by British playwright Catherine Johnson, based on the songs of ABBA composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, former members of the band. The musical opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre on Oct. 18, 2001. The show closed on Sept. 12, 2015. "Mamma Mia!" played 5,773 performances on Broadway before closing.

This show features more than 60 students singing the hits of ABBA, including "Money, Money, Money," "Chiquitita," "Voulez Vous," "S.O.S.," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "The Winner Takes It All," "Super Trouper," "Waterloo," "Dancing Queen" and "Mamma Mia!"

Featured performers include senior Kendall O'Keefe as Donna, senior Hannah Wildasin as Tanya, sophomore Bailie Spangler as Rosie, senior Maddie Sechrist as Sophie, senior Kevin Spangler as Sam, junior Jacob Moser as Harry, junior Brayton Kominsky as Bill, and freshman Seth Erdley as Sky.
