Local Volunteer Earns Recognition

Each year, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, a statewide nonprofit whose vision is a clean and beautiful Pennsylvania, provides an opportunity for its affiliates to recognize local volunteers for their dedication, commitment, and exceptional contributions to keeping Pennsylvania beautiful. Michael Ely of Harrisburg is one of the four 2019 Volunteers of the Year.

Ely has worked as a volunteer with Keep Harrisburg-Dauphin County Beautiful since April 2018. Since becoming involved in the organization, he has assumed a leadership role. Ely organizes community garden and neighborhood beautification efforts and volunteer recruitment and management. He continues serving the community of uptown Harrisburg, specifically in the Camp Curtin neighborhood.
