Wheelchair Donations Requested

Joni and Friends PA will collect manual wheelchairs and wheelchair footrests for adults and children during March. Donations may be dropped off at the organization's office located at 340 Highland Drive, Suite 200, Mountville, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wheels for the World, a ministry of Joni and Friends, provides a free wheelchair, along with a Bible and the Gospel message, to families affected by disability.

At the end of March, the wheelchairs will be transported to a Wheels for the World Restoration Center, located in a correctional facility, where inmates restore the wheelchairs to like-new condition. The restored wheelchairs will then be shipped to less resourced countries around the world. Teams of volunteer therapists and wheelchair mechanics will fit each wheelchair to meet an individual's unique needs and provide training in the use and maintenance of the wheelchair.

For a list of alternate drop-off locations, or to donate a wheelchair anytime of the year, readers may visit http://www.joniandfriends.org/support-us/donate-a-wheelchair/ and enter their zip code. For more details, readers may call Cindi Feaster at 717-464-9351. Receipts will be provided for tax purposes.
