College Choir Will Perform

Mar 14, 2020 - 7:00 pm

The Gettysburg College Choir and Camerata will present a free concert at Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., Hummelstown, on Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m. to benefit Trinity's clothing bank, The Shepherd's Closet.

The concert, "Elements-Music About the Essential Parts of Life," will include a variety of a cappella sacred and secular music. The idea began with the four natural elements of earth, air, fire, and water, then grew to include other needs also considered fundamental to a prosperous life: music, love, community, faith, hope, and joy. The Camerata is an eight-member chamber group from within the college choir that will perform a group of lighter pieces on similar themes.

The Shepherd's Closet stocks clothes for all ages and serves anyone with a clothing need. Donations of gently used clothing are always welcome. Proceeds from the freewill offering will be used to purchase packs of new socks and underwear the closet provides to clients.
