Mohler Center Posts Schedule

Mohler Center will hold basketball themed events, parties, games, and fundraisers. All members are invited to participate.

A March (Madness) Social will take place on Friday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be spaghetti with meatballs, breadsticks, Caeser salad, and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Storyteller and singer Leo DiSanto will provide entertainment. There is a cost to attend. Reservations are required by Tuesday, March 17.

A March Madness Lunch and Learn will be held on Monday, March 23, at noon. Sandwiches will be provided and members are asked to bring a side dish, snack, or dessert. Attendees are encouraged to bring a basketball themed dish. The event will include trivia, word searches, bingo, and more. This lunch is free though reservations are required by Thursday, March 19.

March Madness Lobby Treats will be available on Tuesday, March 31.

Medicare 101 will be offered on Thursday, March 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. Dauphin County Apprise counselors will conduct the seminar. Additional seminars are scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursdays, May 28, July 23, Sept. 24, and Nov. 19. These informational events are designed for those who are soon to be on Medicare, are new to Medicare, or have questions. The seminars are open to the public. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, March 31, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Hershey Community Chorus. The menu will include homemade spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, a tossed salad, bread, and a beverage. Takeouts will be available. Tickets are available at the center or at the door.

The Mohler Takeout is slated for Wednesday, April 1. The menu will feature meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Hot meals will be available for purchase from 2 p.m. until the food is sold out, and food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a fee per meal. Participants may buy three meals and get one free.

Chair Yoga with Bernie is offered on Mondays at 2:30 p.m. Postures are done seated and standing at one's personal comfort level. No experience is necessary. The first class is free.

The center will offer a Baltimore Dine Around trip on Thursday, June 4. The cost of the trip includes transportation, a hot breakfast inside the National Aquarium, admission to the aquarium, a 45-minute sightseeing cruise of Inner Harbor, lunch and a sweet treat at the Museum of Industry, and admission to the Museum of Industry and the Visionary Art Museum. Reservations are required by Friday, May 1.

A trip to New York City will take place on Wednesday, July 8. Attendees will depart Mohler Center at 7:30 a.m. and have time on their own in the city prior to attending a performance of "Wicked" at the Gershwin Theater. The group will explore the city a bit more and then head home, with arrival at approximately 11 p.m. The cost for the trip will include motorcoach transportation and orchestra seats.

The center will offer a Valor and Honor Trip on Thursday, Aug. 20. The trip will begin with a combined bus and walking tour of West Point, the U.S. Military Academy, followed by a buffet lunch. Participants will then board the Pride of the Hudson for a two-hour narrated cruise of the Hudson River. The bus will depart at 6:15 a.m. and will return at approximately 9 p.m. The cost will include motorcoach transportation, the guided tour, lunch, and the cruise. Reservations are required by Friday, July 17.

The center will offer a Poconos Fall Foliage and Train Excursion on Thursday, Oct. 1. The bus will depart at 8:30 a.m. for Hotel Anthracite, where participants will have a snack and attend "Voices of Legends." The show features singing impressionist Eric Kearns performing tunes by Sinatra, Diamond, Presley and others. Attendees will have lunch before boarding the Stourbridge Line Train for a ride along the Lackawaxen River. The bus will return at approximately 7:30 p.m. There is a per-person cost. Reservations are required by Friday, Aug. 21.

A trip to see "West Side Story" on Broadway will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The bus will depart at 7 a.m. and return at approximately 9 p.m. The fee includes motorcoach transportation, orchestra seats, and a buffet lunch. Reservations are required by Monday, Aug. 31.

A Philly Pops trip is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18. Details are forthcoming.
