EMU Students Study Abroad

A total of 20 Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) students completed cross cultural study in Guatemala and Colombia and at Washington Community Scholars' Center (WCSC) during the spring 2020 semester.

Josiah Kanagy of Lancaster, Jamie Walmer of Mount Joy, and Janessa Zimmerman of Lititz each completed a cross-cultural experience in Guatemala and Colombia.

Each semester program includes 15 semester hours of credit taken as five courses of three semester hours each. The experience integrates course content through analysis and experiential learning. Semester programs include locations abroad and at WCSC in Washington, D.C. EMU's requirement for cross cultural learning provides students with the ability to learn about themselves, learn about another culture or country, and gain experiences that they would not get anywhere else.
