WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital earned an "A" safety grade from Leapfrog, an independent national watchdog organization, in its spring report. Leapfrog assigns grades of "A" to "F" to acute-care hospitals across the country, based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other harms to patients in their care.
The nonprofit organization uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign the grades to hospitals. To find out more about WellSpan's Leapfrog scores, readers may visit http://www.wellspan.org/about/who-we-are/quality-safety/leapfrog-quality-measures/.
