Local Scouts Earn Eagle Rank

Michael Hensel and Logan Ginder, members of Troop 117, Elizabethtown, have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouts. Michael is the son of Melanie and Tom Hensel of Elizabethtown, and Logan is the son of Elisabeth and Todd Ginder of Elizabethtown.

For both boys, the accomplishment represents 10 years of adventure and dedication to the Scouting program. In addition to earning the 21 merit badges required to achieve the rank of Eagle, each boy also completed a requisite Eagle Scout Project.

Michael's project involved moving and then reconstructing a playground at a safer area on the Cassel property, owned by the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Logan's project involved constructing picnic tables for use at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Michael and Logan are seniors at Elizabethtown Area High School. In the fall, Michael plans to attend college to major in computer science engineering. Logan plans to attend High Point University to major in strategic communications.
