Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, has announced that Delayne Breslin was named the recipient of the Helen Elmer Scholarship.
The scholarship was established by Carl and Helen Bernhardt in memory of Helen's mother. The scholarship is awarded to an active member of the church who is graduating from high school and enrolled in a four-year college.
Delayne is the daughter of Abe and Leigh Breslin of Willow Street. Delayne attended Apostles Preschool and sang in cherub and children's choirs. She contributes to worship services through dance and spoken word. She is an active youth group member, a member of the church council and the outreach commission. She is also responsible for delivering the church collections to the clothing bank.
Delayne plans to attend Lock Haven University to major in accounting.
