The Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has scheduled a soft reopening to begin on Thursday, June 11.
As the library starts its reopening process, for the first few weeks it will not be open for browsing, for the use of public computers, or for any other library services. All item requests will be done over the phone or through email, and patrons will be asked to pick up their labeled items on the library's front porch during scheduled times via a Holds Only - Grab-and-Go Porch Pickup system. This process will be in place for a few weeks.
Beginning June 8, staff will be at the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer the phone for item requests. To request items, readers may call 717-653-1510 or email info@mountjoy.lib.pa.us. Also, an order form for item requests can be found at http://www.mslibrary.org. The form should be used as a guide to provide information to the staff regarding what items are being requested; the more information patrons can give, the better the staff can provide assistance.
By June 11, the library is slated to begin its initial Holds Only - Grab-and-Go Porch Pickup system. Porch pickups will be scheduled on Mondays through Thursdays from 3 to 7:45 p.m., Fridays from 2 to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the initial phase of the Holds Only - Grab and Go Porch Pickup system, the library will only be able to fill requests from the online catalog that are marked as being available at Milanof-Schock Library.
To serve as many people as possible, patrons are asked to limit the number of holds to three per adult cardholder and five per juvenile cardholder.
