The Arthur Hufnagel Public Library, 32 Main St., Glen Rock, reopened for lobby pickup service on June 15. Library cardholders may borrow books and audiobooks at this time. The library is also accepting returns in the book drop only. The library's new hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To obtain books or audiobooks, readers should place holds on the items in the online catalog. To do this, people may visit http://www.yorklibraries.org, click "Log In to My Account" under "Books & Media," and search for the items they want and place their holds. Readers may also call 717-235-1127 or email hufnagellibrary@yorklibraries.org to make requests. Holds may be placed on items from any of the 13 York County Libraries locations.
Once patrons are notified that their books are ready for pickup, they may come to the library during open hours. They should ring the doorbell/intercom to the right of the door and a staff member will assist them. Masks and social distancing are required. Community members may not come into the library to get books; only the lobby pickup service is available. The public restrooms are not available.
Due dates for books already checked out to patrons have been extended until the end of June.
Anyone who does not have a library card may request one at http://www.yorklibraries.org. To ask for a paper application, readers may call or email the library using the aforementioned contact information.
