The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will be open for brief visits by appointment only starting Thursday, July 16. Not all library resources will be available, and visits will be limited to 30 minutes. Face masks that cover the mouth and nose are required for entry. Those who are unable to wear a mask may utilize the no-contact self-pickup service. Appointments may be made by calling the library at 717-354-0525 or using the event calendar at http://www.elancolibrary.org.
Also, starting July 16, checked-out materials will no longer automatically renew and all materials will have standard borrowing times.
Phone hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. Additionally, community members may also call between 5 and 7 p.m. on Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Pickup hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays; from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays; and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

The Library System of Lancaster County has reinstated the online hold reservation system, so that patrons can once again reserve materials from home, including items from other libraries in Lancaster County. Those who do not have a way to browse the online catalog and access their account from home may call the library during phone hours to reserve items for pickup.

The library is unable to accept any movie or book donations at this time.

The Summer Fitness Quest for children ages 5 to 12 will also continue through Aug. 15. The program supports free opportunities for children and adults to visit and enjoy Lancaster County parks, trails, and nature preserves. Jesse the Reptile Guy will present a program for people age 5 and up on Wednesday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. Registrants will receive an email with the Zoom meeting information. Readers may register on http://www.elancolibrary.org or by emailing cbarrows@elancolibrary.org.
Cooking with Carla for all ages will take place on Friday, July 17, at 5:30 p.m. Carla will demonstrate her cooking skills. This event will be recorded and uploaded to the library's YouTube channel.
Growing a Beanstalk with Lancaster Parks and Recreation for students in kindergarten through sixth grade will be offered on Monday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. This program will begin with reading the book "Jack and the Beanstalk." Participants will make recycled newspaper pots and plant beans to grow at home, as well as learn about seeds and plants. Young children will need adult helpers. Those who register will receive a link to the video when it becomes available.
Zoom Zumba will be offered on Tuesday, July 21, by certified instructor Carcy Vreeland. Registration is available at http://www.elancolibrary.org or by emailing hsmith@elancolibrary.org. At 2 p.m. will be Chair Zumba, a seated class. At 5:30 p.m. will be Zumba Fitness, a total workout that combines many elements of fitness.
Ryan the Bug Man will present a program for people age 5 and up on July 21 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how insects were revered throughout history and why they are important now. Those who register will receive a link to the video when it becomes available.

Series geared toward adults on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. on YouTube, and Preschool Storytime for 3- to 6-year-olds on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook Live.
