Couples Mark Anniversaries

Dr. Donald Lee and Catherine Bortoli Singletary celebrated their 62nd anniversary on June 14. Their daughter Suzanne Lee Potteiger and Suzanne's husband, James, marked their 17th anniversary on the same date.

The two couples celebrated with an RV trip through West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, which was planned by Suzanne. The trip included two live theater performances, a visit to Graceland, a stop at the Jim Beam Distillery, a tour of Churchill Downs, a barbecue festival and visits to other attractions such as museums. At the Grand Ole Opry, they received a VIP backstage tour during the show. The VIP experience included a photo opportunity, the inclusion of their names in the program and an announcement to the audience honoring them.

Don and Cathy met at a beach party at Michigan Beach Sand Dunes in Indiana. They were married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Joliet, Ill., and later renewed their vows on the day that Suzanne and James were married at the Ephrata Cloister. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Jeffrey Lee Singletary, the son of Don and Cathy and brother of Suzanne.

In addition to Suzanne and Jeffrey, Don and Cathy are the parents of Sherie Lee and Anne Lee. There are 10 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Don is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
