With Lancaster County now in the green phase, Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development's Softball Weekend will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 23. The event will be played at Lancaster County Central Park this year.
There are additional changes as well. The marathon time slots have been shortened to two hours based on player feedback. The fundraising minimum for the tournament has been lowered to $300 per team. The fundraising minimum for the marathon is remaining at $300 per team. There will be a men's division and a co-ed division (five vs. five, following ASA rules) for the tournament.
Each player must sign a waiver to play. For more information and the waiver or to register, readers may visit http://www.schreiberpediatric.org and look under Special Events. Prizes will be given to individual players who reach the prize fundraising levels.
Schreiber has received a matching grant from the Stabler Foundation. For the next year, every donation that is given to Schreiber will be doubled, up to $250,000. Every dollar a team raises for the Softball Weekend will be matched by the Stabler Foundation.
