More than 150 of Joy El's ministry leaders, supporters and program students held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 12. Joy El launched the silent phase of a capital campaign in September 2019. The campaign consists of three phases for new construction and remodeling of key structures at Joy El Camps and Retreats in Greencastle.
The first phase of the campaign will include building a new Welcome Center. Having raised the needed $900,000 to begin construction, guests and staff watched as 14 students broke ground where the new structure will be built.
Construction of the Welcome Center will begin in August while the campaign will move to the second phase, which will include fundraising for the remodeling of the dining hall at the campground.
