Award Winners Announced

The York County Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees recently awarded two $2,000 scholarships to two York County high school graduates. The recipients are Isabelle Oropeza and Ashley Krueger.

Oropeza is a Hanover High School 2020 graduate. She is the daughter of Ruben Oropeza and Nellie Laboy. She will attend Penn State University to study education.

Krueger is a 2020 graduate of Eastern York High School. She is the daughter of Karen and Rene Krueger. She will attend Millersville University to pursue a degree in education.

The winners of the Lauretta Woodson Award were also announced. Two members of the City of York School District staff will be presented with plaques and a $150 grant to be used in their classrooms. This year's recipients are Brandi Jennings, a teacher at Ferguson School, and Madeline Torres Ocasio, a support staff member at William Penn High School.
