The Hershey Lions Club Foundation will hold its 31st annual Henry F. Nixon Memorial Amateur Golf Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Manada Golf Club, 609 Golf Lane, Grantville.
The event will feature a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration will take place from noon to 12:45 p.m. The registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, use of a golf cart, door prizes, and a catered dinner.
Event chair Lion Pete Van Zandt of the Hershey Lions Club is looking forward to this year's tournament. "We appreciate the support that we receive each year from our sponsors and players, many of whom have been part of this event for many years," he related. "Now more than ever, their support allows us to provide assistance to many people and organizations."
Proceeds will benefit projects of the foundation, including eye exams and glasses, sponsorship of youth sports teams, support for the Hershey Food Bank, student backpacks, and student scholarship awards. Since its inception, the event has raised approximately $150,000.
