"Wild West Express" Train Rides Posted

Northern Central Railway (NCR), 2 W. Main St., New Freedom, will offer the Wild West Express train ride on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

During a trip to Seitzland and back, re-enactors portraying Jesse James and the Younger Gang, a group of 19th-century outlaws, will "rob" the train for donations to Animal Rescue Inc. (ARI). The coaches will be pushed and pulled by NCR's steam locomotive.

ARI is a local "shelter for life" that takes in stray and abandoned animals and then offers many of them for adoption. ARI serves southcentral Pennsylvania and Maryland.

ARL's annual community event Dogs' Day in the Park is the organization's largest fundraiser. Due to COVID-19 and resulting crowd restrictions, ARI will hold a Virtual Dogs' Day. ARI is planning a virtual 5K and many other games activities with the shelter dogs leading up to the event and during the event. More information is forthcoming at http://www.animalrescueinc.org and on the "Animal Rescue, Inc." page on Facebook.
