Lancaster County Art Association (LCAA), 149 Precision Ave., Strasburg, will offer two exhibits featuring outdoor-themed artwork.
The "Outbound" exhibit in the Kauffman Gallery will consist of artwork created outdoors, or en plein air, or having outdoor subjects. The show features artwork by the LCAA's Fair Weather Plein Air group, which consists of more than 16 artists who have been creating artwork outdoors throughout the spring and summer, according to LCAA president Carol Dale.
Landscapes and outdoor themed paintings by Carol S. Herr will be displayed in the Steinmetz Gallery. Carol is known for her impressionistic style and will highlight her smaller works in her Minis Plus show. Sunlight and shadow play a large part in her work, along with strong brushstrokes and vivid colors. Herr's work has won numerous awards in local and national art shows. She is a longtime member of LCAA and has held the position of gallery director since 2005.
Both shows will open on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. and continue through Sunday, Sept. 20. The LCAA gallery is open on Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Visitors are asked to wear masks.
