GEARS is offering basketball clinics for children. Iddy Biddy Basketball for children ages 4 to 6 will take place on Saturdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 31, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Children in grades one and two may take part in a clinic on Saturdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. A clinic for those in grades three and four will be offered on Wednesdays, Sept. 9 to Oct. 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a clinic for those in grades five and six on Thursdays, Sept. 10 to Oct. 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All programs will be held at the Mill Road Elementary School, 35 Elm Ave., Elizabethtown, at the outdoor basketball courts.
Zumba, for people age 14 and up, will be offered on Wednesdays, Sept. 9 to Oct. 21, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at Fighting Dragons, 101 E. Cherry St., Elizabethtown. The classes will be taught by Courtney Lesnik, a certified Zumba fitness instructor.
A Mommy and Me Dance Class for children ages 2 to 3 with their mother or another loved one will be available on Thursdays, Sept. 10 to Nov. 12, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. in the GEARS Community Center gym.
Pound will be offered for people age 14 and up on Fridays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fighting Dragons. Pound uses lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercise in a workout that combines cardio, conditioning and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Lesnick, a certified Pound instructor, will lead. Attendees should bring a yoga mat.
People age 14 and up of all fitness levels are invited to participate in Indoor Cycling on Saturdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 17, from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the West Donegal Township Municipal Building, 1 Municipal Drive, Elizabethtown. Participants may engage in a high-intensity workout or just take a leisurely ride. The class is taught by Charla Lorenzen, an experienced ACE-certified group fitness instructor.
