Library Plans Book Sales

Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, has announced several book sales. After a weeklong children's book sale was held in August, the library announced that weekly book sales would be held through mid-October as an alternative to the Friends' book sale. Unless otherwise noted, each sale will start on a Monday and continue through Saturday or until supplies run out. All items will be available for the same nominal fee, and paperbacks will be offered buy one, get one free.

As weather and staffing permit, the sales will be held in the courtyard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. When necessary, the library will have the items available in the community room.

Each week will have one or more categories of items available. The sale dates and categories are as follows: Aug. 31 to Sept. 5, cooking, crafting, and gardening along with religion and inspirational fiction; Tuesday, Sept. 8, to Sept. 12, games and puzzles; Sept. 14 to 19, biographies and memoirs, sports and recreation, science and nature, travel, and other miscellaneous nonfiction; Sept. 21 to 26, history and local interest; Sept. 28 to Oct. 3, coffee table books, art, classic literature, poetry, and foreign language; Tuesday, Oct. 6, to Oct. 10, fantasy, science fiction, romance, and mass market paperbacks; and Oct. 12 to 17, hardcover fiction and trade paperbacks.

The library hopes to be able to resume accepting book donations by the end of September. Information about the process for accepting donations and for holding future book sales is forthcoming.
